Lawrence High School

Site Council 12/17/25

 December 17,  2025 / 5:30 PM / ROOM: Learning Commons

ATTENDEES

Rials, Gillman, Honas, Farley, Graham, Erin Fox, Laurie Hart, and Jeralyn Smith.

AGENDA

** SMART PASS:

When students return from Winter Break, we will implement SmartPass, a digital hall pass solution designed for K12 schools. As we begin this new process together, here’s some information for you to know.

Our Why:

SmartPass will allow our staff to better support + monitor student movement throughout the school day. With SmartPass, we will have greater clarity about where and for how long students are at Lawrence High, in classes. This clarity and information will help us ensure students are where they should bein the classroom learning. You will also be able to use SmartPass data to support more effective and informative parent-teacher conferences. It is essential to know and share that SmartPass does NOT use GPS to track students.

The How:

Students do not need to download the app on their phone. They will access SmartPass using their school computer. You can create a kiosk system on your iPad for your classroom. You can decide what the best management option is for your classroom. We want this new tool to simplify your classroom management, not complicate it!

Ideas from Administrators:

  • Items we are adding to Smart Pass, or will use in conjunction with Smart Pass: no pass list
  • Run no pass list simultaneously
  • How many passes per week, or per day
  • 3 passes per day, 7 min each pass
  • Once used up-escort or passing period
  • How long is each pass?
  • 7min
  • Limitations for who can be out at the same time, Encounter Prevention under Accounts

Teachers will come with their suggestions at the January PD.
