Appointment/Early Pickup:
When your child has an appointment, we ask that parents/guardians call in no later than two (2) hours prior to the appointment whenever possible.  The same applies to parents/guardians needing to pick up their child early from school.

Student Passes:
Students who have an appointment scheduled during the school day need to stop by Students Services to pick up an off-campus pass from Mrs. McAnderson between classes prior to their appointment.  This limits classroom interruptions while ensuring students get their pass to leave on time.

National Honor Society members:  You still need volunteer hours?  Here is a great way to get your school-related volunteer hours.  We need students to help tutor math and science for our January - February Night School.  Night School started this week and will run from 4pm-7pm on Monday and Wednesdays.  We need tutors to help out during these times.  If you can do one or two hours or even more tutoring per week, that would be great!  This will help get school related volunteer hours.  For Math tutoring, contact Cory Kramer in room 227.  For Science tutoring, contact Andy Bricker in room 113.  If you have any questions, contact Alan Gleue in room 114.  Thank you for those that volunteer to help.
~~

The Health Careers Internship classes are sponsoring the Pennies for Patients Project.  The coins collected will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  This money goes to help children these types of cancer.  There is a competition between 2nd hour classes.  If LHS raises a minimum of $500.00 total, the 2nd hour class that collected the most towards this goal will receive an all expense pizza party.  Please put your coins in the plastic containers in your classroom or other container provided by your teacher.  The contest begins January 12th  and will conclude around spring break.  Thank you in advance for helping fight for cancers in children.
~~

On February 2, LHS will be hosting a scholars bowl tournament and we need some volunteers.  This would be a perfect opportunity for NHS members and others to garner some school related volunteer hours.  See Mr. Calloway in room #232 to sign up.  We need score-keepers and time-keepers.
~~

This winter, Lawrence Public Library is partnering with Kaplan Test Prep to offer practice tests and test strategy sessions for the SAT and the ACT exams.  There are only 30 spots for each test, so registration is required.  There will be a SAT practice test on Sunday, February 5th.  For more information and additional test prep dates, go to the Student Services office and check out the testing board.
