Attendance Policy
Phone: 785-330-4968

Illness/Absence:
If your student is ill or not going to be at school, please call the Attendance Office.

Appointment/Early Pickup:
When your child has an appointment, we ask that parents/guardians call in no later than two (2) hours prior to the appointment whenever possible.  The same applies to parents/guardians needing to pick up their child early from school.

Student Passes:
Students who have an appointment scheduled during the school day need to stop by Students Services to pick up an off-campus pass from Mrs. McAnderson between classes prior to their appointment.  This limits classroom interruptions while ensuring students get their pass to leave on time.

LHS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  We will be hosting an ACT prep session for students taking the ACT this year.  The fee is $25.00.  The preparation includes two full practice tests, which will be scored, and a test course taught by Mr. Lichte of Multiple Choice Test Prep.  The class will be held at 2:05 on Thursday, October 2nd.  To reserve a spot you should bring payment to Mrs. Bradfield in student Services starting September 2nd .  Checks should be made payable to LHS.  The deadline to sign up is Sept 15.

Final call for any girls still interested in joining the golf team this fall.  You can meet with Coach Samp today, 3pm at the Lawrence Country Club.  If you have any questions, contact the athletic office.

The first home event of the season is tonight when LHS boys soccer takes on Manhattan.  If you have purchased, or wish to purchase, a 2014-15 activity ticket, stop by the finance office and get your temporary ID stamped.  Unstamped temporary ID’s will NOT be accepted at the ticket gates.

Starting September 2, the Library will open at 6:30am-4:00 pm.  Reminder that no food or drink is allowed in the library, except water.

Juniors who want to take the PSAT test should see Mrs. Bradfield in Student Services starting Tuesday, September 2 to register.  The test date is Saturday October 18th.  Cost is $18.00 cash or check (written to LHS) and is due when you register! Sophomores, although this is a junior test, sophomores may take this exam.  Space is available for sophomores on a first-come first-serve basis, as there are only a limited number of tests available.  See Mrs. Bradfield in student services with questions.

Auditions for the fall play, Our Town, by Thornton Wilder, will be Wednesday, September 3rd from 2:35 to 4:00 and Thursday, September 4th from 2:05 to 3:30 in the auditorium. Students may come either day and a prepared monologue is not required. If you have any questions see Ms. Johnson in room 208.
